Taproot Retreat

January 2025

Taproot Method

Bodies are designed to sustain themselves, like a tree is designed to grow a taproot and live a long life. Our mission is to discover, activate, and utilize our own taproots. This  retreat bringing practices from different disciplines which address several systems of the body. Learn how to treat your body from injury, sooth your nervous system, recover from activity, and refine your coordination to establish your own Taproot.

With so much pride, we announce our retreat for 2025. Yelapa is an incredible place, ripe with healing energy, and we are honored to have our second event here.

This one week journey is an education in immediate pain relief for the body, long term maintainance, actualizing physical potential, deepening our body awarness, and integrating into the nervous system! Using techniques to treat the lymphatic system, respiratory system, bodily alignment, and fascial release, these methods enhanced the sense of knowing yourself. All with the intention to know how to be in the right place at the right time with your self-care.

Meet Yelapa, Mexico

We would like to introduce you to our favorite place, Yelapa, Mexico!

Yelapa rests in the hills of a small bay within a larger bay. The distinct shape of land calms the rough pacific waters. Greeted daily by this tranquil ocean, the bay induces/encourages/generates a slow, rhythmic and calm way of life.

An hour boat ride south of Puerto Vallarta, Yelapa is a hidden jungle gem, built with narrow cobblestone streets, colorful buildings and beautiful shorelines. Decorated with painted murals and mosaic sculptures, the flag lined alleys run about a 25 minute walk from end to end.

Everyday the ocean brings air into the bay tumbled clean by the waves and the jungle. With no cars, trucks, trains, nor planes in town, breathing is easy, wholesome, and refreshing. It is covered with millions of flowers and giant trees with enormous leaves blooming everywhere. It is paradise.

The people of Yelapa and those who have chosen to live there cherish the way this land nurtures life. They are sweet, kind, humble, accommodating, and welcoming. Their approach to life is joyful, calm and determined. Yelapans are excited to have genuine meetings. In the streets, nearly all passers by greet you with a “Bueno Dias”. Because of its small size, seeing the same people out and about each day makes it easy to fall into friendship with locals.

The cuisine in Yelapa is fresh, clean and incredible. An abundance of fruit including mangos, papaya, oranges, red fruit, rose apples, bananas, star fruit, soursop, and guavas grow bountifully. As Yelapa is a fishing town, seafood is caught and prepared daily. Even the tortillas are fresh pressed and grilled at most restaurants and corner grills.
