Beginning Pali Pronunciation Class
Chanting is a potent practice. The deeper we study Thai medicine, the more we use chanting as a way to heal, connect, study, and grow. Being non-native to the Theravada Traditions, it is necessary to put effort toward proper preservation, which means proper pronunciation during these practices. To chant well means we are honoring the teachings, the medicine, and Thai culture.
Join us on two Sundays for an introduction to the Pali language, the language of Theravada BuddhaDhamma. Our class will discuss the pronunciation of the Wai Khru specific to our Traditional Thai Massage community. Taking visual cues from the typed words, instruction will be given on Pali phonetics, the accents, inflection, suspension, and tongue placement during speech. Our goal is to chant the Wai Khru and all subsequent incantations, invitations, initiations, blessings and practices with proper pronunciation for the efficacy and empowerment of our practices.

Reusi Dat Ton - Personal Care practice
Reusi Dat Ton is a personal care system that was developed from the methods of practitioners from North India to Thailand. Reusi Dat Ton is an investigation, relaxation, and stimulation of the body, it’s tendons, ligaments, nerves, blood, tissue and pathways. Within this tradition, we practice chanting, breathing techniques, face massage, postures, meditations, and daily habits of safe keeping.
These techniques allow for healthy adjustments to one's digestion, breathing, mental states, and help to strengthen and open the flexibility of the physical body. In our classes, techniques and postures are approached with incredible detail, allowing for deep learning and clarity. Adjustments and modifications are suggested along the way so that each student can work within their comfort range.
For those studying Thai massage, RDT is the root of our massage practice, and through studying it, we are able to better understand anatomy, physiology and kinesiology and medical sciences from the Thai perspective. With this understanding, our massage becomes clearer, our view of the medicine more accurate, and our bodies more conducive to continue working into old age.
Upon conclusion of the class, students are welcomed into a small community of dedicated practitioners, who meet regularly and study online.

Live RDT Workshop
Thai Massage Foundations: Reusi Dat Ton Level 1
Practitioner Self-Care and Thai Massage
Dates TBD
Our live 40 hour course is an anatomical investigation of the body from the cultural perspective of Thai medicine, and includes self care for practitioners and Thai massage techniques for proper alignment during stretches, strengthening muscles and increasing range of motion.
Reusi Dat Ton was born out of North India, Sri Lanka, South East Asia and Thailand’s ascetic practices and is an investigation, stimulation, and relaxation of the muscles, nerves, blood and tissue. Following tradition as closely as possible, we will practice the chanting, breathing techniques, massage, stretches, meditations, and daily habits of practitioners of this style of Buddhist medicine. These techniques allow for healthy adjustments to digestion, breathing, mental states, and help to strengthen and open flexibility of the self and the client.
For those studying Thai massage, RDT is the origin of the massage practice, and through studying it we are able to better understand the proper application of pressure, the layers of the anatomy, safe alignment during stretches, how to open mobility in the joints, and will be able to better assign aftercare… all from the Thai perspective. With this understanding, our massage effectiveness becomes clearer, our use of Thai massage more appropriate, and our bodies more conducive to continue working into old age.
