Preparing Thai and Lanna Medicines is an honor for Woven Body. These recipes are treasures which have survived centuries and continue to cultivate health and longevity. As they have been passed down from teacher to student, they have been skillfully measured and mastered accomplishing potency and effectiveness. We are grateful for the trust our Teacher has placed in our work and take good care to blend recipes honorably to preserve our tradition.
At Woven Body, we work with organic herbs, locally sourced when possible, and carry herbs from our travels throughout Thailand. Many of our herbs are purchased fresh, dried in our kitchen, pounded by hand with mortar and pestle, blended at specific hours on holy days and moon days while chanting Lanna medicine incantations into each mix to open its potency. It is a tender and beautiful process.
Below you will find compress blends with the option of delivery of each pound in loose herb or compress form. Each order will come with instructions. Each pound makes 3-5 compresses.

HERBAL Compress BLENDS
Tried and True. Used by practitioners for hundreds of years, this recipe is at the heart of massage in Thailand. Our Traditional Lanna recipe is known for its uplifting fragrance and its efficacy. These compresses relax, detoxify, and help ease muscular tension by dissolving adhesions and moving the blood. Blended with herbs to nourish each body layer, our Lanna compresses open constricted pathways, increase range of motion, and expand flexibility.

Thai Medicine categorizes herbs by taste and each taste addresses a layer of the body. Addressing ailment through layers of skin, muscle, channel and organ, diving deep to the bones, nerves and blood, this bright citrusy blend thoroughly soothes the entire body. In addition to increasing stretches, nourishing the tendons, drawing out and flushing toxins, Medicinal Four Taste dissolves bruises while softening the muscles. It is an excellent tool to help resolve injury, sprain, strain, pinched nerves and muscle spasms.

Healthy Organ Function is the key to well-being, mental stability and longevity. This complex, earthy fragranced recipe is a rare and potent gem. With herbs that address each organ, Abdominal Relief Blend offers a thorough cleanse of the muscular, neurological and digestive systems of the body's core. Coupled with abdominal massage or postpartum care, this blend motivates digestion, eases adhesions, clears the channels, relaxes muscles, and stimulates the deep healing of each organ.

Herbal Steam Blends
Fragrant, uplifting, soothing, our Whole Body Steam Blend addresses the inner and outer body, the core and extremities. This traditional recipe is commonly found in the steam houses and saunas of Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand. It is a therapeutic aromatic blast crafted to soothe aches, tension, and inflexibility, while opening the respiratory and circulatory systems.

Flu be gone!! After a single steam this blend soothes common colds and flu-like symptoms... mucus, headache, body aches, and cough. Simply hang your head, ears, forehead, neck, and arm pits over the steam and feel the cleansing properties. After the steam, you can use the water to make an excellent soak for purifying the skin. Feel free to use it as a rinse or add to a hot bath and soak.
